How to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Windsor Essex County

Posted Apr 10, 2024

One of the best things about Windsor Essex County is its diverse food scene – we have everything from Vietnamese food to El Salvadorian cuisine just around the corner. Cinco de Mayo is almost here – get ready to celebrate with Royal LePage Binder!

A Weekend of Revelry

If you’re looking for a Cinco de Mayo party, WindsorEats is hosting the biggest Cinco de Mayo party in Windsor. Starting on Friday, May 3rd, there will be three days of Mexican food, live Latin bands, and handcrafted cocktails at the WindsorEats food hall. Check out their Facebook Event Page for more information!

Take a Day Trip to Leamington

Leamington has one of the largest Hispanic communities in Ontario – what better place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? We recommend picking up tacos at one of the dozens of locally owned taco joints in town and stopping by Seacliff Park or Beach for a picnic! Local favourites include Taco Tony, Salsa Caliente Mexican Grill, and Taqueria Ajua.

Windsor Mainstays

If you don’t want to make the trip out to Leamington, Windsor has got your covered. The Grand Cantina has moved into a larger space on the corner of Kildare and Wyandotte, with a revamped menu and cocktail list. At Mi Casita you’ll find incredible Salvadoran and Mexican cuisine and delicious blended cocktails. While many people end their night out at Acapulco Delight, we recommend you start there! Their menu features an incredible variety of delicious Mexican eats at affordable prices.

Take some time next month to treat yourself to authentic Hispanic food and to support locally owned businesses. We couldn’t fit all the restaurants we wanted to in this blog – let us know on social media what your favourite taco place in Windsor Essex County is!
