Home for the Holidays - Royal LePage Binder's Commitment to Domestic Violence Prevention

Posted Nov 14, 2023

The holiday season is the best time of year for many of us; we get to spend time with people we love and enjoy some time off. However, for many families, the holidays also come with increased incidents of domestic violence and abuse. At Royal LePage Binder, we aim to make home a safe place for everyone.

We are proud to be a part of Royal LePage’s Shelter Foundation – Canada’s largest public foundation exclusively dedicated to funding women’s shelters and violence prevention programs.

The Local Impact

The Shelter Foundation is a nation-wide charitable foundation that helps fund women’s shelters and the essential work they do. These programs and resources help women and children escape abusive environments. Importantly, they also help them start on paths to happier and healthier lives.

One of the incredible things about The Shelter Foundation is that funds raised in Essex County stay in Essex County! All donations raised from our annual golf tournament and throughout the year are funnelled straight to Hiatus House. Last year, this event alone raised $41,000! The Hiatus House provides women and children with emergency shelter, as well as counselling and continued support. You may know someone who has benefited from Hiatus House and not realize it – domestic violence is often a very tightly held secret.

Year-Round Support

While our charity golf tournament happens once a year, many of our agents are give a percentage of their sales commission directly to the charity! Visit our website to discover the incredible agents that are in the top 10% and 25% of donors across Canada. Talk to an agent today to learn more about this incredible initiative.
