Renamed in 1912 in honour of Tecumseh, a Shawnee Warrior who was killed during a battle in the War of 1812, and declared a town in 1921, Tecumseh is a vibrant area to live and visit. Their slogan,"A community proud of the past, confident in the future";  shows in the well-taken-care-of atmosphere throughout the town and the variety of opportunities and activities for both children and adults.

The town is proud of its parks and trails, sports fields, festivals, successful businesses for local shopping and Cada Library. Here are a few of our suggestions of some great places to visit:

Entertainment

Lazee G Ranch is a family-owned horse ranch that thrives off the love of horses. Offering a variety classes to anyone interested in learning and building a bond with both humans and horses alike.

On The Water Miniature Golf is a mini-golf facility for all ages, perfect for summertime fun! It features 15 waterfalls, a pirate ship, ice cream stand, and two Spectacular 18 hole Miniature Golf Courses in Pirate Island and Lost Island themes.

PowerPlay Gaming Centre is one of four Community Gaming and Entertainment Group’s gaming locations. In the last 10 years alone they have raised over $30 million for charities in surrounding communities. They feature The Accumulator, Big 5 Jackpot, Bingo Bonus, Double Action, Giant Bingo, Regular session Bingo, Shutter Boards, Super Jackpots, Super ‘G’ Ball, and play on-demand games. 

The Corn Festival has been recognized by Festivals and Events Ontario as one of the Top 50 Festivals in the province. Vendors for locally made art, merch, and specialty foods. Rides by the Midway Carnival and people of all ages can enjoy the Cream of the Crop Invitational Car Show where classic or muscle cars are on display. 

Tecumseh Arena & Recreation Complex includes two regulation-size ice surfaces, a large community room with a kitchen and a small classroom. In the summer, ice is removed from one of the surfaces to provide a large floor rental space that is perfect for lacrosse, tradeshows, etc and during the Fall-Winter season, the Arena has a snack bar that serves food and beverages, including healthy menu options.

Food

The Spitfire and Firkin is a fun little restaurant with a great menu of comfort food and attentive staff. There are tons of TV’s on location so you don't miss the game, and a great selection of beers to enjoy.

Tabouli by Eddy's is a Mediterranean restaurant that has Vegetarian Friendly, Vegan Options, Halal, Gluten Free options. Dine in or take out, the feedback is all the same, and the experience at this restaurant will be enough for the whole family to enjoy.

Carrots and Dates is a local full-service whole foods restaurant and bakery. Rest assured, all items on both the restaurant and the bakery menus are health inspired with a full-service bar, juice and smoothies, coffee, and a menu for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. As well as guilt-free desserts that are rid of processed oils and sugars. 

Overall, Tecumseh is known for its close-knit neighbourhoods, thriving business and commercial sector, well-established agricultural community, and a number of recreational alternatives. It is a great place to plant roots for new families, with lots of family-fun activities for all seasons.
